The Dankira Tehwagi Programme is one of our excellent ways of engaging young people with the richness of mathematics, the sciences and their cultural heritage. It also instils an enhanced appreciation of life long learning. Through the wisdom of our stories and the vibrancy of our dances we have successfully inspired and guided thousands of children and young people to new heights in their self-expressiveness, self-respect and self-control, as we creatively explore the joy and omnipresence of numbers and patterns in life, especially in dance movements.
The Dankira Tehwagi Programme is part of a broader innovation called The Art of Mathematics, which focuses on the development of resources and educational guidance for learners and teachers using the yeht'mr urwuk'eht (unifiedknowledge) educational approach.
In essence our approach to education also has four cornerstones, they are;
· Mathematics is the most essential study in life as it underpins all other disciplines. At its root, mathematics is the study and application of patterns. · Art, mathematics and the sciences are naturally unified and are best appreciated when this unity is realised. · Nature and One's natural expressions are both creative and intrinsically mathematical · Young people learn best when practical experience is made fun
With over a decade of community development and arts practice our Principal, Astehmari Batekun, coordinates a team with global expertise in yeht'mr urwuk'eht. As masterful cultural artists our workshops and programmes always reflect nature's beautiful patterns through a synergy of cultural arts, creative disciplines and an in-depth knowledge of national curriculum requirements. With great success, we have taught in both primary and secondary schools, colleges, universities, voluntary sector groups and other learning centres throughout London, nationwide, in Europe, the USA, the Caribbean and Africa. We work with all levels of ability and take the view that all needs are special.
Today we are especially keen to build learning partnerships and to enhance the capacity of organisations to educate and guide the young. Once you have read this email or call us on 020 7639 6397 for booking enquiries or to arrange a convenient meeting to discuss our programmes in more detail. Let's be creative in the way we nurture our young. |
